It’s been a while since I last mentioned my Amazon business, however, things are still chugging away in the background. At the moment I am in the process of having 2 products manufactured and another one that is about to board a boat and head over to the USA.
It’s not been entirely smooth sailing along the way, but with all things that are new and different, you just have to take each challenge one step at a time and then work out what you can do to overcome it.
The most recent set back has been manufacturing delays. The first has been due to the Chinese national holiday, where it seems like everyone in China takes a week off work at the same time.
The next issue I’ve had has been one of my manufacturers not being able to source enough materials for my product and so they have used a different supplier. They then needed some more money as the new supplier was unable to match the same price as the original one.
Shipping has also been a bit of a problem. It seems that as Christmas time approaches, the boats going to the USA get more and more crowded, which means delays at the docks. Hopefully after a while I get a good idea of how long these things normally take and so then I can plan accordingly in the future.
The largest problem I’ve been having through is that I want to enter so many different products, but I just don’t want to over capitalize on something – particularly when I haven’t sold any product yet. I just have to keep telling myself that this is a long term investment, and I need to learn to walk before I can run.
I’m a part of so many different groups now, and I keep getting bombarded with screen captures of peoples accounts which show hundreds of thousands of dollars in income, and I just can’t wait to be part of that action.
I suspect I won’t have too many more updates on this until my products hit the USA. According to my freight company, this will take about 30-40 days, so expect another update in early December.
