It’s a little disappointing to admit this, but my online income has hit a point where I have started to plateau. Don’t get me wrong, I am still making money (more than I thought I could online), but it’s still not enough for me to quit my 9 to 5 job.

It’s a little sobering to sit back and take stock of where I am at. I’m glad I have done what I have done to date, but I also realise that if I am serious about completing my 5 year goal of quitting full time work (I’m half way though in terms of time), I need to find new ways to generate income.

The problem I have is that my time is fairly fully utilised and so there isn’t a lot of room for new endeavours. So that leaves me in a little bit of a pickle. I’ve come up with the following options:

  • I can either stop some of the less productive things that I am currently doing to save time.
  • I can hire contractors to do some of the work I am doing.
  • I can continue doing what I am doing now and hope things turn around.

Lately I have been pretty much just doing number 3, and to be honest, it’s time to do something different. I’ve also got a team of contractors working for me at the moment, however, finding ones that are reliable is difficult, and even then I sometimes wonder how much value I am getting in some cases.

The other option I have is to stop doing less productive things, and I think that’s where I am going to spend most of my time.

As it stands my wife and I have a number of pretty much hands off businesses, which I obviously want to continue with, but most of the others will need to take a back seat to allow me to focus my time and energy on looking at a new path. I’ve got some ideas bubbling away, but am yet to commit to any of them just yet.

So the plan at this stage is to start getting back into setting targeted goals, and to try a different business idea that has better prospects of allowing me to compete my 5 year plan, which I will detail here on MPB.

Wish me luck.
