I’m sorry about the lack of life update, but there really hasn’t been all that much happening this week.
This week I started using Google reader to collect RSS feeds from blogs. This is so that I can get updates immediately, rather than scouring blogs randomly. Previously I had a big list of sites in my favourites folder, but often I got sick of hitting sites without any new content and so I stopped reading them as regularly.
With Google reader I am able to keep up to date with every single new post as it happens. This means that I have been a bit more active with my commenting on other blogs. I know most people have been doing things like this for ages, but I never really saw the value until now.
In other news
My wife is now a lady of leisure and is able to enjoy sleeping in on work days. I can’t wait for my holidays early in the new year so I can sleep in too.
I also broke my highest number of hits on my site this week, twice! Tuesday I got 435 unique visitors and 1,011 page views and Wednesday I got 497 unique visitors and 1,103 page views. Thanks for visiting and sharing my articles everyone 🙂
Posts This Week
I had 2 posts this week (excluding this one) and both got quite a good amount of interest in the comments section.
- Monday I had my post titled – Tattoos at work – Does it impact on your employment opportunities?
- Wednesday I had another post titled – Has Christmas Become too Commercial?
Welcome to the Pool Room
Time for the pool room!
In case you don’t know what the pool room is, I explain it in this post.
There were WAY too many great posts this week. I just went through all the ones I flagged to add to the pool room and there was 10 of them. So picking the top few is a real challenge. Sorry to everyone who missed out 🙁
Kim shows how her and her partner worked together as a team to tackle their credit card debt. It’s a great read and it really shows the importance of working together in a relationship no matter what it is you are dealing with.
Jason has compiled a massive list of side businesses that you can start in a bid to supplement your main source of income. There are plenty couple of great ideas including some unusual ideas and some really tasty looking ideas (I’m looking at your candy making mmmm….). I particularly like his advice regarding blogging as a side gig.
I absolutely loved this post, not because it’s personal finance related, but because it is just so genuine and I can see a lot of my future in that post (except for the nipple bit).
Congratulations to this weeks winners – I hope everyone enjoys the posts mentioned above as much as I did.
For next week – If you think you have a top post and you want to make sure I see it, be sure to leave a comment somewhere on my blog and include the link in the Comment Luv section. I make sure I check every blog owners page if they have left a comment on my blog, so that’s a sure fire way to ensure I see your blog post.
Have a great weekend everyone! I am taking part in a giveaway on Monday, so be sure to come back and check it out!
Thanks for visiting 🙂
